Adam Boesel was working as an elementary school teacher when he decided to try an exercise program, Body for Life. Twelve weeks later, he had found a new career: personal trainer. Boesel tried working in various gyms before launching his vision of a personal training studio focusing on being as green as possible. He started The Green Microgym in Portland, Oregon in September 2008 and has since also co-founded Re:Source Fitness, a company that creates and retrofits exercise equipment to create electricity and send it back to the grid.
