Joseph Connelly operated Play It Again Records, a music collectibles business, for 15 years and thus, had no idea where it would lead when he started the Syracuse Area Vegetarian Education Society in 1996. "After running a local organization for four years, I realized the country needed a national publication to unify the vegetarian movement," he explains. Together with Colleen Holland, Connelly launched VegNews in 2000 with a whopping $10k in start-up funds and a $3k loan.
The rest is vegan history.
