Frosting & Icing are sweet, sugary mixtures that can fill or cover cakes and other desserts. They are essentially the same thing, and cooks in different kitchens use the two terms interchangeably.

Apple Cider Filling

Yield: Makes about 1-1/4 cups
Ingredients:
1/3
cup sugar

3
tablespoons cornstarch

2/3
cup apple cider

1/2
cup apple butter

2
tablespoons lemon juice

2
tablespoons butter or margarine



Preparation:
1.
Combine sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Stir in apple cider and apple butter; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice and butter. Cool completely.
