Apricot Holiday Bread

Yield

Makes 1 (1-1/2-pound) loaf (12 to 16 servings)

Ingredients

2/3 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup pecan or walnut pieces
1/2 cup dried apricots or peaches, chopped
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon active dry yeast

Preparation

  1. Measuring carefully, place all ingredients in bread machine pan in order specified by owner's manual.
  2. Program basic or white cycle and desired crust setting; press start. (Do not use delay cycle.) Remove baked bread from pan; cool on wire rack.
