Base Frosting


This recipe is part of the recipe for Silver Anniversary Cake

Yield

Makes about 2 cups

Ingredients

3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Additional milk

Preparation

  1. Combine sugar, shortening, 1/4 cup milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until frosting is a thin consistency. Use frosting immediately.
