Brownie Baked Alaskas

Yield: Makes 2 servings
Ingredients:
2
purchased brownies (2-1/2 inches square)

2
scoops fudge swirl ice cream or favorite flavor

1/3
cup semisweet chocolate chips

2
tablespoons light corn syrup or milk

2
egg whites

1/4
cup sugar



Preparation:
1.
Preheat oven to 500°F. Place brownies on small cookie sheet; top each with scoop of ice cream and place in freezer.

Melt chocolate chips in small saucepan over low heat. Stir in corn syrup; set aside and keep warm.

3.
Beat egg whites to soft peaks in small bowl. Gradually beat in sugar; continue beating until stiff peaks form. Spread egg white mixture over ice cream and brownies with small spatula. (Ice cream and brownies should be completely covered with egg white mixture.)

4.
Bake 2 to 3 minutes or until meringue is golden. Spread chocolate sauce on serving plates; place baked Alaskas over sauce.
