Frosting & Icing are sweet, sugary mixtures that can fill or cover cakes and other desserts. They are essentially the same thing, and cooks in different kitchens use the two terms interchangeably.

Butterscotch Glaze

Ingredients:
1/2
cup packed light brown sugar

tablespoons half-and-half

1-1/2
tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4
teaspoon salt



Preparation:
1.
Combine brown sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until butter melts and sugar dissolves.
