Cheesy Cherry Turnovers

INGREDIENTS
| Butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray | |
| 1 | package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese, softened |
| 1 | cup low-fat (1%) cottage cheese |
| 1/2 | cup sugar, divided |
| 1 | teaspoon vanilla |
| 1 | can (16-1/2 ounces) dark sweet pitted cherries, rinsed and drained |
| 8 | sheets frozen phyllo dough, thawed |
| 1 | cup whole wheat bread crumbs |
| 1 | teaspoon ground cinnamon |
PREPARATION:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside.
- Combine cream cheese, cottage cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Stir in cherries.
- Spray 1 phyllo dough sheet with cooking spray; fold sheet lengthwise in half to form rectangle. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons bread crumbs. Drop 1/3-cupful cheese mixture onto upper left corner of sheet. Fold right corner over mixture to form triangle. Continue folding turnover like a flag, making triangular packet with each turn. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Place turnovers on prepared baking sheet. Combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle turnovers with sugar mixture.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until turnovers are crisp and golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
