Chicken Sausage Pilaf
Makes 4 servings
|1||pound chicken or turkey sausage, casing removed|
|1||cup uncooked rice and pasta mix|
|4||cups chicken broth|
|2||stalks celery, diced|
|1/4||cup slivered almonds|
|Salt and black pepper|
- Brown sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring to break up meat. Drain fat. Add rice and pasta mix to skillet. Cook and stir 1 minute.
- Place mixture in slow cooker. Add broth, celery, almonds, salt and pepper to slow cooker; mix well.
- Cover; cook on LOW 7 to 10 hours or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours or until rice is tender.
