Chocolate Cookies are a favorite around the world. Some chocolate cookies are huge and some are more chocolate than cookie, but any type of chocolate cookie is worth a try. Start with these recipes for your own chocolate cookies.

Chocolate Spritz

Yield: Makes about 5 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
2
squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate

1
cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

1/2
cup granulated sugar

1
egg

1
teaspoon vanilla

1/4
teaspoon salt

2-1/4
cups all-purpose flour

Cocoa powder or powdered sugar



Preparation:
1.
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or leave ungreased. Melt chocolate in top of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water. Remove from heat; cool. Beat butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla and salt in large bowl until light. Blend in melted chocolate and flour until stiff. Fit cookie press with your choice of plate. Load press with dough; press cookies out onto cookie sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.

Bake 5 to 7 minutes or just until very slightly browned around edges. Remove to wire racks to cool. Sprinkle with cocoa powder.
