Chunky Vanilla Pears


Makes 2 cups


1-1/4 pounds ripe pears, peeled and diced
8 dried orange essence plums, cut into quarters
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla


  1. Combine all ingredients, except vanilla in 1-1/2-quart low cooker. Cover; cook 1 hour on HIGH.
  2. Stir in vanilla. Serve hot or at room temperature with roasted ham, pork or chicken. Or, serve as a dessert sauce over ice cream, angel food cake or pound cake.
