Salads are a mixture of lettuces, vegetables and sometimes even meats and dairy products. Most have an accompanying dressing to keep it moist and even more toppings to add flavor.

Cobb Salad

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Yield: Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1
package (10 ounces) torn mixed salad greens or 8 cups torn romaine lettuce

6
ounces deli chicken, turkey or smoked turkey breast, cut 1/4 inch thick

1
large tomato, seeded and chopped

1/3
cup bacon bits or crisp-cooked bacon, crumbled

1
large ripe avocado, peeled and diced

1/3
cup prepared blue cheese or Caesar salad dressing



Preparation:
1.
Place lettuce in salad bowl. Dice chicken; place in center of lettuce. Arrange tomato, bacon and avocado in rows on either side of chicken.

2.
Drizzle with dressing. Serve immediately.


Serving Suggestion: Serve with warm French or Italian rolls.
