Decorator Frosting

This recipe is part of the recipe for Lollipop Cookies


Makes 2 cups


3/4 cup butter, softened
4-1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
3 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract


  1. Beat butter in medium bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until smooth. Add 2 cups sugar. Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add water and extracts. Beat at low speed until well blended, scraping down side of bowl once. Beat in remaining 2-1/2 cups sugar until mixture is creamy.


This frosting is perfect for piping, but is less durable than Royal Icing. Bumping, stacking and handling may damage decorations.
