INGREDIENTS

Cake
2 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 cup flour
1 cup boiling water
2 tsp. soda
Orange Creme Filling
1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
2 T. Meringue powder
2 T. dairy creamer
1/3 cup hot water
8 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon butter emulsion
2 Tablespoon Orange Compound
Orange Blossom Filling
1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
2 T. Meringue powder
2 T. dairy creamer
1/3 cup hot water
8 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon butter emulsion
2 Tablespoons Orange Icing Fruits

PREPARATION:

Cake

  1. Cream sugar and butter and eggs.
  2. Sift flour with cocoa and salt.
  3. Add alternately with buttermilk.
  4. Mix soda and water and add to above ingredients.
  5. Pour batter into three 8-inch cake pans.
  6. Bake at 300 degrees until done.

Orange Creme Filling

  1. Mix ingredients in the order listed until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add more orange compound to taste.

Orange Blossom Filling

  1. Mix ingredients in the order listed until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add more orange icing fruit to taste.
