Yield: Makes 4 to 6 servings
Ingredients:

tablespoon butter

1
ham steak (about 1-1/3 pounds)

1
cup strong coffee

3/4
teaspoon sugar

1/4
teaspoon hot pepper sauce



Preparation:
1.
Heat large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add butter; tilt skillet to coat bottom. Add ham steak; cook 3 minutes. Turn; cook 2 minutes longer or until lightly browned. Remove ham to serving platter; keep warm.

Add coffee, sugar and pepper sauce to same skillet. Bring to a boil over high heat; boil 2 to 3 minutes or until liquid is reduced to 1/4 cup, scraping up any brown bits. Serve gravy over ham.


Serving Suggestion: Serve ham steak with sautéed greens and poached eggs.
