There's no need to eliminate hamburgers from your diet in order to eat healthy. With lean meat and sensible serving sizes, beef is an excellent source of protein, B vitamins and iron. These tasty burgers are packed with extra flavor–they have all the usual trimmings added to the meat before cooking.

INGREDIENTS

2 slices bread, finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons creamy horseradish
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 pound 95% lean ground beef
6 hamburger buns

PREPARATION:

  1. Preheat broiler. Combine bread, onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, horseradish, garlic powder and chili powder in large bowl until well blended. Gently blend ground beef into mixture. (Do not overwork.)
  2. Shape mixture into 6 (3-inch) burgers. Place burgers on ungreased jelly-roll pan.
  3. Broil burgers 4 inches from heat source 4 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Serve on hamburger buns.
