Donate Greener Baked Goods
According to CBS News last year, six million people asked the Salvation Army for help. This year, that number has almost doubled to between 10 and 12 million. But to be optimistic about this, it's an opportunity for you to help. Contact your local soup kitchen or nonprofit and ask if you can donate your services. How about baking a sweet treat for those in need?
Try this inexpensive, greener sweet treat this holiday season. It's easy to make and there aren't a ton of ingredients. Use organic chocolate chips and buy organic eggs and butter. Great to donate to either people in need or your family celebration—either group will love and you'll feel good about using more eco-friendly ingredients (even if they don't know the difference).
