Homemade Hot Cocoa

It's common knowledge that non-organic milk is laden with chemicals, pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics. But new evidence from a recent European-wide study by Quality Low Input Food (QLIF) has also found that levels of antioxidants in milk produced by organically-raised cattle are 50 to 80 percent higher than normal milk. Higher levels of other nutrients including iron, zinc, and vitamin E were also found. That's huge. In my opinion, dairy should always be on your list of MBO products (must be organic) because the difference in the two is mind boggling. Don't like it straight? Here are some sweet ways to enjoy organic dairy:

INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp organic cocoa powder (Try Green and Black's)
2 tbsp raw sugar
2 tbsp water
1 cup organic milk
Garnish with homemade whipped cream

PREPARATION:

Method

  1. Combine cocoa, sugar, and water in a small saucepan.
  2. Heat on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking.
  3. After about 1 to 2 minutes, add milk. Mix it all together until it reaches your preferred temperature.
  4. Garnish with whipped cream.
