INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound ground beef
4 kaiser rolls or hamburger buns, warmed
4 leaves green leaf lettuce
4 slices fresh red tomato

PREPARATION:

  1. Prepared grill for direct cooking.
  2. Combine ketchup, teriyaki sauce and pepper in small bowl. Add 1/4 cup mixture to ground beef; mix well. shape beef into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
  3. Place patties on grid over medium heat. Grill, covered, 8 to 10 minutes ( or, uncovered, 13 to 15 minutes) to medium doneness (160°F), turning and brushing often with remaining sauce. Place patties on buns. Serve with lettuce and tomatoes.
