A British dairy corporation is trying not only to get approval for its plan for the country's largest-ever dairy farm, but is pushing for public funding, as well.
Apparently Nocton Dairies is saying that without public funding, animal treatment and environmental practices on the 8,100-cow farm would suffer—that "without taxpayers' money, enhancements to cattle housing and parlours, such as honeycomb grooving to concrete floors, would not be adopted," This is Lincolnshire reports.
Not only that—the story also quotes the company threatening another consequence if it doesn't get the requested public funds: "Water abstraction rights sharing arrangements may not be adopted and waste handling could revolve around lorry-based movement and spreading of untreated slurry."
