Double Dipped Chocolate Cookies
Why just cover your best cookies with one kind of chocolate when you can use two and create a really impressive effect?- Place 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon shortening in a glass measuring cup. Microwave on high 21/2 to 3 minutes or until melted, stirring after 2 minutes.

Microwave the chocolate chips
just to the point of melting. - Dip one end of each cookie into melted chocolate, about one third of the way up; place on waxed paper. Let stand until chocolate is set, about 30 minutes.
- Place 1 cup milk chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon shortening in a glass measuring cup. Microwave on high 21/2 to 3 minutes or until melted, stirring after 2 minutes.
- Dip opposite end of each cookie into melted milk chocolate, about one third of the way up; place on waxed paper. Let stand until chocolate is set, about 30 minutes.
- Store cookies between sheets of waxed paper at cool room temperature or freeze up to 3 months.
