INGREDIENTS
| 1/4 | cup water |
| 1 | cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium) |
| 3 | tablespoons vegetable oil |
| 1 | teaspoon salt |
| 2‑1/4 | cups bread flour |
| 3/4 | cup whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 | cup uncooked old-fashioned oats |
| 1/4 | cup nonfat dry milk powder |
| 1 | teaspoon grated orange peel (optional) |
| 1 | teaspoon ground cinnamon |
| 2 | teaspoons active dry yeast |
| 3/4 | cup chopped pitted dates |
PREPARATION:
Bread Machine Directions
- Measuring carefully, place all ingredients in bread machine pan in order specified by owner's manual.
- Program basic cycle and desired crust setting; press start. Immediately remove baked bread from pan; cool on wire rack. Serve with desired toppings.
Note
This recipe produces a moist, slightly dense loaf that has a lower volume than other loaves. The banana flavor is more prominent when the bread is toasted.
