Green Beans and Garlic

Makes 6 servings
||pounds fresh green beans
||tablespoons olive oil
||cloves garlic, minced
||tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
||teaspoon black pepper
- Rinse beans, but do not drain or dry. Snap into 2-inch lengths. Set aside.
- Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Cook garlic 1 to 2 minutes or until aromatic, taking care not to burn. Add soy sauce and wet beans. Cover and steam, lifting lid to stir occasionally. Steam beans until tender-crisp and bright green, adding small amounts of water if needed. Sprinkle with pepper before serving.
