In this video, G Word correspondent Stephen Brooks takes a look at delicious fruits that may be growing on a tree or bush near you. He begins his search in San Diego, California, where, on a casual stroll through town, he finds several edible fruits and flowers growing naturally.
Then it is time for something a little different. Stephen travels a half-hour outside San Diego to visit a farm with over a thousand varieties of fruit. Though they sell plants to anyone interested in growing them at home, the real fun comes in tasting the wide variety of exotic edibles growing on-site.
Finally, Stephen visits a famous garden in Escondido, California, where the owner, Ben Poirier, experiments growing exotic varieties in order to introduce them to his friends, neighbors, and the local community.
