Organic food has emerged from the eco-underground and established itself in the mainstream. Almost every grocery store now offers organic produce and meat and organic ingredients are even cropping up on restaurant menus. But what constitutes organic? What does an organic farm do differently from a conventional farm? What does it look like?

In this video, Sarah Norton and Shelley Peck, the Go Green Girls, visit an organic livestock farm to find out. They discover that organic farms are prohibited from using pesticides, herbicides, or anything toxic. The goal is simple: keep these dangerous substances out of the animals and out of our water supplies.

It's a great green idea, but it requires some work. Don't miss the girls getting their hands dirty on the farm in this online video from G Word.
