Yield: Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
2
teaspoons cornstarch

1/4
teaspoon salt (optional)

1/4
teaspoon grated orange peel

Dash black pepper

Dash ground allspice

1
can (16 ounces) sliced beets, drained and 1/3 cup liquid reserved

tablespoons cider vinegar

1
tablespoon orange juice



Preparation:
1.
Combine cornstarch, salt, if desired, orange peel, pepper and allspice in 1-quart microwavable casserole. Stir in reserved 1/3 cup beet liquid, vinegar and orange juice.

2.
Microwave on HIGH 1-3/4 to 2-1/2 minutes or until thickened, stirring after each minute. Add beets. Microwave on HIGH 2 to 4 minutes or until beets are thoroughly heated. Garnish as desired.
