Hot Mulled Cider

Makes 16 servings

Ingredients

1/2 gallon apple cider
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons balsamic or cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cinnamon stick
6 whole cloves
1/2 cup applejack or bourbon (optional)

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients except applejack in large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in applejack, if desired. Pour into punch bowl.
