Lunch at il Buco this Earth Day, Help Save the Amazon Rainforest

As if toasting to Earth Day over organic cocktails isn't fun enough, New York-based foodies looking to ramp up their Earth Day efforts can also munch their way to a greener world.

Il Buco the popular NoHo joint known for its yummy Mediterranean cuisine is hosting its Second Annual Earth Day Fundraiser and this year they're definitely supporting a cause that I can dig—and dine for—the protection of the world's largest rainforest and most diverse ecosystem: the  Amazon Rainforest.

Starting tomorrow, April 21 up through Saturday, April 25, the restaurant is letting lunch-ers save 15 percent off of their total bill. In turn, il Buco will donate the difference to the eco-organization, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in support of restoring the Amazon. For example, if you spend $100 dollars, you'll only end up paying $85 and il Buco will donate the $15 difference, out of pocket.

A few bucks donation might seem measly at first, but having traveled to the Amazon and witnessed first-hand the terrible amount of deforestation (about the size of Iceland now!)—which isn't only largely contributing to climate change but threatening the important species inhabiting it—every dollar counts.

Take advantage of the discount and the ability to match your love for good food with green by making a lunch date and heading over to 47 Bond Street this week! Make your trip greener, cheaper (and more fun!) by rounding up a big group of friends or colleagues. You can split the bill and the restaurant will end up donating more.
