If you've read my posts, you know I'm a big fan of Christina Pirello and her show Christina Cooks. She provides real advice for how you can eat for your health, understanding that your diet is your most effective medicine.

Christina isn't just a talking head, she practices what she preaches. At age 26, she was diagnosed with terminal leukemia and was told she had only months to live. Then she met her now husband Robert, who introduced her to whole foods cooking. She altered her diet to one of beans, grains, and vegetables and in fourteen months, her cancer was gone. Nearly 30 years later, she's still going strong.

In the following video Christina talks frankly about our battle with breast cancer and how 1 in 8 women today are diagnosed.

"This is about preventing this plague in the first place," she says.

She goes on to list steps for reducing your risk of breast cancer as much as possible; some that you may already know like cutting alcohol intake to special occasions and avoiding processed foods, but some others that may surprise you, like the dangers in yo-yo dieting and their direct link to breast cancer.

Watch the video and learn:

"Wouldn't you want to take every natural step in your life to make sure that your risk is at its bare minimum?" Christina says.
