INGREDIENTS
| 2 | tablespoons sugar |
| 2 | tablespoons fresh lemon juice |
| 1 | tablespoon salt |
| 1 | tablespoon vegetable oil |
| 2 | teaspoons black pepper |
| 2 | teaspoons dried thyme leaves |
| 3/4 | teaspoon each ground cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice |
| 1/2 | teaspoon ground red pepper |
| 6 | pounds well-trimmed pork baby back ribs, cut into 3- to 4-rib portions |
| Barbecue Sauce (recipe) | |
PREPARATION:
- For seasoning rub, combine all ingredients except ribs and Barbecue Sauce in small bowl; stir well. Spread over all surfaces of ribs; press with fingertips so mixture adheres to ribs. Cover; refrigerate overnight.
- Prepare grill for indirect cooking. While coals are heating, prepare Barbecue Sauce.
- Place seasoned ribs on grid directly over drip pan. Grill, covered, 1 hour, turning occasionally. Baste ribs generously with Barbecue Sauce; grill 30 minutes more or until ribs are tender and browned, turning occasionally.
- Bring remaining Barbecue Sauce to a boil over medium-high heat; boil 1 minute. Serve ribs with remaining sauce.
