Maple Walnut Pie

INGREDIENTS
| 1 | cup maple-flavored syrup |
| 3 | eggs |
| 1/2 | cup packed dark brown sugar |
| 1 | tablespoon butter, melted |
| 1 | teaspoon vanilla |
| 1/4 | teaspoon salt |
| 1 | cup coarsely chopped walnuts |
| 1 | (9-inch) unbaked deep-dish pie shell |
| Nondairy whipped topping or whipped cream (optional) | |
PREPARATION:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Beat syrup, eggs, brown sugar, butter, vanilla and salt in large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Stir in walnuts. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until center is firm. Cool 2 hours on wire rack. Top with dollops of whipped topping, if desired. Store in refrigerator.
