Milk Substitutes That'll Help You Live Green and Dairy Free

Over the past month I've been exploring the ends and outs of dairy substitutes. Learning the good, the bad, and the green when it comes to soy, almond, coconut, rice, and hemp milk. More and more people are giving up dairy whether it be for health reasons or for the sake of the planet. And then there's the animals. Here's a scary quote from Vegan Action:

Despite the common belief that drinking milk or eating eggs does not kill animals, commercially-raised dairy cows and egg-laying chickens, whether factory-farmed or "free range", are slaughtered when their production rates decline. The same factory farm methods that are used to produce most meats are also used to produce most milk and eggs.
