Yield

Makes 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

1/2 pound 90% lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
8 bacon strips, chopped
1 can (about 15 ounces) pinto beans, undrained
1 can (about 15 ounces) butter beans, rinsed and drained, reserve 1/4 cup liquid
1 can (about 15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons molasses
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar

Preparation

  1. Brown ground beef, onion and bacon in medium saucepan over high heat. Stir in beans and liquid; set aside.
  2. Combine ketchup, molasses and mustard in medium bowl. Mix in sugars. Stir ketchup mixture into beef mixture; mix well. Transfer to slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW 2 to 3 hours or until heated through.
