Over the years as a writer, I've been assigned an array of topics. I was once assigned to research and write on the various treatments for male impotency. Of course, as a woman, this doesn't particularly interest me on a personal level, but I was fascinated during my research by just how many drug companies are out there, boasting their ability to solve this problem. And when something like a sex life is at stake, I don't blame men for trying anything they can to reverse impotency. But I don't know much about a man's sex drive from a man's perspective and I certainly don't know much about impotency. But I've always believed that many of our cures for common ailments lie in nature.
According to a recent article published in Yahoo! news, some German researchers follow my sentiments on this subject. German researchers are testing a new treatment for impotency that is made using 100% natural ingredients. In some cases, the researchers have already found that the treatment is working more efficiently than widespread treatments, such as Viagra. And I'm not surprised.
The Sueddeutsche Zeitung daily cites Olaf Schroeder saying, "In clinical trials, 50 men had much better sex afterwards, more fun in bed and just generally felt better about themselves. Their libido was even higher than the control group taking Viagra.
The natural treatment being used in this research includes tribulus terrestris, which is an herb already commonly used in alternative medicine. The treatment also includes Maca, a root vegetable found in the Andes, and grape juice extract.
They're calling the treatment 'Plantagrar' and are planning its launch for early 2010.
With the worse side effect, diarrhea, only striking 2 of the 50 subjects, things are looking up for the alternative medicine industry regarding impotency treatment.
What you can do:
Keep the name, 'Plantagrar', fresh in your memory. Research it. Ask your doctor about it. While I'm betting there's a chance this treatment might be released in wasteful packaging, like most other drugs, the actual ingredients of this treatment seem to be much greener than the current treatments available. If you can put natural ingredients into your body instead of chemicals to treat impotency, wouldn't you rather?
