Ring in the New Year with a Champagne Cocktail
What would New Years be without the bubbly? It's a quintessential part of the holiday. Every year in my family we love to come up with new takes on old cocktail classics. We toasted this one last week for no good reason and it put me right in the spirit. Champagne cocktails make the celebration even more special. Also, try and keep it simple and fresh by skipping the sugary processed mixers.
Here's my recipe for a delicious mango flirtini:
Mango Flirtini
1/2 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz organic vodka (try Square One or TRU Organic
1 oz fresh mango juice
3 oz organic champagne or sparkling wine
the juice of ½ an organic lime
one lime cut into thin, circular pieces for garnish
Method:
1. Put the martini glass in the freezer so it's frosty when it's time to serve.
2. Add the Cointreau, vodka, and mango juice to a drink shaker and shake.
3. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
4. Top with champagne.
5. Garnish with the limes.
*Makes one drink.
