As easy as T-R-X

With more than two decades of experience whipping New York City's elite into shape, renowned personal trainer Michael Margulies is not easily impressed by fitness fads or this year's hot new trend. "Everyone is looking for an angle," he says. Margulies has worked with movie stars, TV personalities, corporate CEOs, university presidents, and competitive athletes. The muscular and amiable 41-year-old is also the owner/operator of Core Fitness, a private training facility located a half-block from Central Park on Manhattan's Upper East Side in which he has pioneered fitness trends like Power Plate and mixed martial arts.
"I have seen the personal training business go through revolutionary changes," he explains. "No longer do people want the classic Arnold build. They want toned muscles and strong functional movement. After all, what good is big bulky body if you can't run a mile, touch your toes, or throw a kick? The greatest workout machine of all is the human body."
It is with this in mind that Margulies has become an advocate for TRX, a portable training tool that uses leveraged bodyweight as resistance.
I asked Michael a few questions about this style of exercise and the results are below.
