Orange Cappuccino Brownies
Yield: Makes about 2 dozen brownies
Ingredients:
3/4
cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter

2
squares (1 ounce each) semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

2
squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped

1-3/4
cups sugar

1
tablespoon instant espresso powder or instant coffee granules

3
eggs

1/4
cup orange-flavored liqueur

2
teaspoons freshly grated orange peel

1
cup all-purpose flour

1
package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

2
tablespoons shortening

Preparation:
1.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13X9-inch baking pan.

2.
Melt butter and chopped chocolate squares in large heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar and espresso powder. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in liqueur and orange peel. Add flour; beat just until blended. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center is just set. Remove pan to wire rack.

3.
Combine chocolate chips and shortening in small microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 1 minute; stir. Microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Immediately spread melted chocolate mixture over warm brownies. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars. Garnish with orange peel knots, if desired.

Gift Idea Wrap the top of a sturdy gift box in a patterned wrapping paper and wrap the bottom in a matching solid color. Layer the brownies in the box between sheets of waxed paper. Close the box and tie it with raffia, ribbon or twine.
