Orange Pecan Cookies

YIELD Makes about 3 dozen cookies

INGREDIENTS

1 package (about 17 ounces) sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1‑1/2 teaspoons orange juice

PREPARATION:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine cookie mix, butter, egg and orange peel in large bowl. Stir with spoon until well blended. Stir in pecans.
  3. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  4. Combine powdered sugar and orange juice in small bowl; stir until well blended. Drizzle over top of cooled cookies. Allow glaze to set before storing between layers of waxed paper in airtight container.
