Red Cabbage and Apples

Ingredients:

small head red cabbage, cored and thinly sliced

medium apples, peeled and grated

cup sugar
1/2
cup red wine vinegar
1
teaspoon ground cloves
1
cup crisp-cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
Fresh apple slices (optional)
Preparation:

Combine cabbage, apples, sugar, vinegar and cloves in slow cooker. Cover; cook on HIGH 6 hours, stirring after 3 hours. Sprinkle with bacon, if desired. Garnish with apple slices.
