Yield: Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1
pound 93% lean ground turkey or 95% lean ground beef

3
tablespoons seasoned dry bread crumbs

1
egg white

1/2
teaspoon salt

1/4
teaspoon black pepper

Butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray

1/2
cup chopped onion

8
ounces sliced mushrooms

1/2
teaspoon dried thyme leaves

1
tablespoon all-purpose flour

1
cup fat-free reduced-sodium beef broth

2
tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or parsley (optional)

Preparation:
1.
Combine turkey, bread crumbs, egg white, salt and pepper; mix well. Shape to form 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.

2.
Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat; coat with cooking spray. Add patties; cook 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink in center. Remove from skillet; set aside.

3.
Coat same skillet with cooking spray. Add onion; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add mushrooms and dried thyme; cook 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour over vegetables; cook and stir 30 seconds. Add broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer about 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender and sauce has thickened. Return patties to skillet; heat through.

4.
Serve patties with mushroom sauce and fresh thyme, if desired.
