We are what we eat, right? Right. Eating foods that promote health is important, and typically, the same foods that promote health also promote beauty. We've been made to believe that we need to buy all sorts of products to remedy beauty problems. Poor elasticity in skin warrants the purchase of lotion, wrinkles warrant the purchase of anti-wrinkle cream, dull skin color warrants the purchase of glowing and bronzing powders, and the list goes on. I don't quite buy it. I don't believe that we need to support all of the industries in the ways that we do. I think it's important that we try to naturally remedy these beauty problems before buying products. My solution? Eat more organic salsa.
Salsa is a great way to get tons of nutrients all at once and guess what? Most of them are great beauty foods. After whipping up some homemade organic salsa last night, I did a little investigation and found out that traditional salsa ingredients can do wonders for your look.
Black beans are rich in antioxidants and great at slowing aging. Tomatoes are one of the healthiest fruits due to their high lycopene content-which promotes a glowing complexion. Green and red peppers alike will help to smooth out any elasticity problems you may be having with your skin and garlic is a natural cure for acne and hair loss.
So before you start making a list of all of the beauty products you need to buy, try eating a little more salsa here and there if you're struggling with any of the above beauty concerns.
