Skull Cupcakes

INGREDIENTS
| 1 | package (18 ounces) cake mix |
| 1 | egg |
| Water | |
| Vegetable oil | |
| 24 | small white marshmallows |
| 24 | large white marshmallows |
| 1 | container (16 ounces) white frosting |
| Black decorating gel | |
| 24 | black jelly beans, halved |
| Black licorice pieces (optional) | |
PREPARATION:
- Bake cupcakes according to package directions, with egg, water and oil, in paper baking cups. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before decorating.
- Use an oiled knife or kitchen shears to trim top off 1 small marshmallow. Squeeze cut edge onto base of a large marshmallow to make a rough skull shape. Trim a flat edge on both marshmallows and press flat, sticky side down onto cupcake top. Frost with white frosting, spreading to completely cover marshmallows.
- Use decorating gel to outline skull shape. Place 2 jelly bean halves for eyes. Use licorice pieces for nose and mouth, if desired, or draw with decorating gel. Repeat with remaining cupcakes.
Tip
When making the skull outline with piping gel or licorice string, picture the shape of a light bulb.
