Sleep In Late to Lose Weight
First, I shared the sleep-in technique for scoring cheap farmers' market finds—now I bring it to you as one of the most affordable, waste-free (no miracle drugs required!) and fun ways to shed some pounds for the summer season.
That's right, sleep in!
A recent study found that women are more prone to packing on pounds when they don't get sufficient beauty rest. In fact, out of the 70,000 women that were tracked in the 16-year study, 33 percent of women who slept five or less hours per night gained at least 33 pounds over time, whereas those who caught at least seven hours of shut eye nightly, gained the least weight.
For many though, sound sleep is easier said then done. There's nothing like chaotic schedules, work-related stress and fluctuating hormones to throw our fat-fighting, sleep off course.
Here are some all-natural tips to get you on the fast track to counting sheep:
- Write down a to-do list at least one hour before hitting the hay so you won't be mulling over it in bed
- Sip on some soothing, organic chamomile tea
- Break open a relaxing book in bed
- Take a warm bath soak before turning in
Then make this mental note to self (like me): Sleep in this weekend!
