INGREDIENTS

1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
2 cups water
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon salt

PREPARATION:

  1. Place rice in strainer; rinse under cold running water to remove excess starch. Combine water, rice, salt and oil in 3-quart saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium-high heat until water comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer until rice is tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes. Uncover; fluff rice lightly with fork.
