Taco Pizza
Bake Time: 7 to 8 minutes
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Yield: Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1
package (10 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
3/4
pound 93% lean ground turkey
1
can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1
envelope (1.25 ounces) reduced-sodium taco seasoning
2
medium plum tomatoes, thinly sliced, or 1 cup chopped tomato
1
cup (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese
1-1/2
cups shredded lettuce
Preparation:
1.
Preheat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray 12-inch pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray. Unroll pizza dough; press into prepared pan. Build up edges slightly. Prick dough with fork. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
2.
Meanwhile, lightly spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add turkey and onion; cook and stir until turkey is no longer pink. Add tomato sauce and taco seasoning to skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 2 to 3 minutes. Spoon turkey mixture on top of warm pizza crust. Bake 5 minutes.
3.
Arrange tomatoes on top of turkey mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 2 to 3 minutes more or until cheese melts. Top with lettuce. Cut into 8 pieces before serving.
