Tomato-Sage Sauce

Sage, a native Mediterranean herb, has been enjoyed for centuries for both its culinary and medicinal uses. The name is Latin (meaning "safe") and is a reference to the healing powers once attributed to the herb.
INGREDIENTS
| 2 | cans (10 ounces each) no-salt-added whole tomatoes, undrained |
| 1 | teaspoon olive oil |
| 3 | cloves garlic, minced |
| 1/4 | cup chopped fresh parsley |
| 2 | tablespoons chopped fresh sage |
| 2 | teaspoons sugar |
| 1/4 | teaspoon black pepper |
PREPARATION:
- Place tomatoes in food processor or blender; process until finely chopped. Set aside.
- Heat oil in medium saucepan over low heat. Add tomatoes, garlic, parsley, sage, sugar and black pepper. Cook over medium heat 30 minutes or until thickened.
