While everyone is outside enjoying burgers and brats, don't make the mistake of heading indoors to prepare dessert. The grill is already hot, and with a little planning and some ingenuity, you can turn dessert into a sweet treat alfresco.
Grilling is an art that has flourished in the trimmed yards of the suburbs, but the familiar silhouette of that kettle grill or stainless steel gas behemoth is most commonly associated with barbecued and smoked meats. There's no denying that the aroma of a thick, juicy steak wafting across the evening air from the next door neighbor's patio is a call to pull out the heavy duty oven mitts and check out the contents of your meat drawer, but while your own grill's heating up, check out a few dessert options, too.
