The Belmont Stakes is the third leg of the Triple Crown held every June at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y. The race occurs five weeks after the Kentucky Derby, and three weeks after the Preakness Stakes. (This year the Belmont Stakes will be Saturday, June 6.)

The Belmont Breeze and the White Carnation are traditional libations featured at the race. So place your bets, take a seat in front of the tube, and feel like you're at the track by sipping on one of these delicious cocktails. For the White Carnation I used Square One organic vodka and Milky Way Dairy Farm light cream from just down the road in Starr, S.C. For the Belmont Breeze, I skipped the 7 up and sugary mixers and instead made my own simple syrup and used freshly squeezed juices. I think that the Belmont Breeze would also benefit from some mint from the garden.
