Turkey Sausage & Pasta Toss

Ingredients

8 ounces uncooked penne or gemelli pasta
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) no-salt-added stewed tomatoes, undrained
6 ounces turkey kielbasa or smoked turkey sausage
2 cups (1-inch) fresh asparagus pieces or broccoli florets
2 tablespoons prepared reduced-fat pesto
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt.
  2. Meanwhile, heat tomatoes in medium saucepan. Cut sausage crosswise into 1/4-inch slices; add to tomatoes. Stir in asparagus and pesto; cover and simmer about 6 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender.
  3. Drain pasta; toss with tomato mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
