Chili-Spiked Fresh Lemonade Spritzer the Editors of Publications International, Ltd.
Makes 6 servings
|5||to 10 small dried hot red chilies*|
|2||cups fresh lemon juice|
|1||bottle (750 ml) Asti Spumante or club soda|
|Additional sugar (optional)|
|Lime wedges and dried hot red chilies for garnish|
*Use chilies according to taste.
- Combine water, 1-1/4 cups sugar and chilies in medium saucepan. Cook and stir over high heat until mixture comes to a boil and sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove from heat and cool completely. Refrigerate 2 hours or up to 3 days.
- Pour mixture through strainer into 3-quart pitcher; discard chilies. Stir in lemon juice and Asti Spumante. Stir in additional sugar to taste. Serve over ice. Garnish, if desired.
